Capacity Development Strategic Framework
Africa's people: The continent's most important resourceAfrica's people are the continent's most important resource for development. For the first time, Africa has a continentwide strategy on capacity development– the Capacity Development Strategic Framework (CDSF). The Strategic Framework is founded on the African Union/New Partnership for Africa's Development (AU/NEPAD) principles of African leadership, ownership, resourcefulness and
innovation.
Putting the CDSF into practice is fundamental to actualizing the AU/NEPAD vision of eradicating poverty and building a prosperous continent through the efforts of African citizens. The core concept shaping the CDSF is that African citizens in all spheres, and at all levels of society, need to understand and believe that through their innate resourcefulness and potential they can develop and transform Africa. Successful implementation of the CDSF will advance Africa's development through engaged and empowered citizens at individual, institutional and societal levels.
