The CIVICUS World Assembly is a forum for civil society representatives, researchers, activists, concerned business leaders and government representatives to get together, exchange ideas and experiences, and build strategies to strengthen citizen engagement and civil society world-wide.  In 2006, the Assembly will be held at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow from 21 to 25 June.

Recognising that many people will not be able to attend the event, the organisers have secured the support of Oracle to transmit the proceedings of plenary sessions via the Internet.  These recordings of the sessions will also be stored on the World Assembly website for viewing after the live events.  More information about the webcasts and other conference activities is available at http://www.civicusassembly.org.

CIVICUS is an international alliance with over 1000 members who are dedicated to strengthening citizen action and civil society throughout the world.  More information about CIVICUS is available at http://www.civicus.org.
