Agriculture Education and Knowledge Management (Call for Papers)
This conference will focus on sharing experiences on the challenges facing agricultural education and knowledge management systems.
This conference will focus on sharing experiences on the challenges facing agricultural education and knowledge management systems. It will address issues related to knowledge generated by educational and research institutes for innovative agriculture. The conference will help in devising ways to strengthen educational institutions’ effective development and delivery of learning programmes designed to impart demand-driven knowledge and skills to farming communities, professionals and other stakeholders.

Assessment of educational and human resource needs in rural development and agricultural sector.
Approaches, case studies, concepts and methodologies applicable to agricultural education and knowledge management systems
Present status and future challenges in agricultural education and knowledge management systems
Knowledge access, concepts, creation, applications and services within agricultural communities and organizations
Participation of the private sector, farmers’ organizations and NGOs in educating farmers and complimenting the efforts of the public sector
Scope, challenges, development and applications of Information and
Communication Technology (ICT) for effective agricultural education and knowledge management systems
Technological innovations in conventional and open and distance education systems and these systems’ effective outreach in agriculture
Open and distance learning (ODL) for continuing education for professionals engaged in agro-industry, research, education and extension activities
Development of efficient and timely knowledge sharing systems for farmer education
Effective pedagogical methods for agricultural education
Role of knowledge management in development of agricultural value chain including high-value agriculture and contract farming
Call for Papers
Conceptual, review and research papers including case studies and developmental experiences of individuals and organizations on any of the above themes are invited. The abstract should be a maximum of 200 words. The abstracts will be screened by the Committee; and upon receiving approval, authors should prepare a full paper. The full papers, typed in double space, should be a maximum of 4,000 words. All abstracts and full papers are to be submitted to the Organizing Secretary. Author(s) are also requested to send the soft copy of their abstract (s) and paper(s) through CD or email to baljitsingh45@yahoo.co.in (or) pkjain@ignou.ac.in (or) s.babu@cgiar.org

Submission of full paper: July 26, 2010
Registration Fee
Indian participants: Rs. 2500/-
Students: Rs. 1000/-
Overseas participants: US $500/-
All registration fees and completed registration forms should be sent to the Organizing Secretary. Registration fees should be sent through Demand Draft from any scheduled commercial bank in favour of “IGNOU” and payable to Agartala. Overseas participants can send banker’s cheque. The registration fee includes the registration kit, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
