HIV/AIDS

Welcome to the HIV/AIDS folder of the Impact Alliance Resource Center. The effects of the HIV/AIDS pandemic touch every aspect of NGO work. HIV/AIDS proves to be a major challenge to development, as poverty, migration, gender, peace building and civic advocacy for public expenditure are all exacerbated by the pandemic. It is also a programmatic focus, as societies mobilize all levels of government and civil society to prevent its spread and reduce its impact. Lastly, it is an organizational problem, as NGOs try to cope with their capacities to address the issues and maintain operations, often when they themselves are feeling the loss of human resources internally.

The resources in this folder examine HIV/AIDS from the perspective of organizational and programmatic capacity building. They focus on ways to strengthen organizations so that they may more effectively address the problem. There are also many links to the technical components of HIV/AIDS programming. Finally, you will find several Impact Alliance members and partners that have provided resources and located HIV/AIDS programming at the heart of their mission.Knowledge
