The Task Team on South-South Cooperation (TT-SSC), a Southern-led platform hosted at the OECD-DAC, brings together partner countries, middle income countries, donors, civil society, academia, regional and multilateral agencies under a common objective of collecting, analyzing and disseminating evidence on the synergies between the principles of aid effectiveness and the practice of South-South Cooperation (SSC). Committed to the evolving aid effectiveness agenda, the TT-SSC will address a three-fold mandate emerging from the Accra Agenda for Action (article 19):
Adapting the Paris Declaration and Accra Agenda for Action principles for SSC (AAA art. 19a);
Enriching the effectiveness agenda with the practices and experiences of SSC (AAA art. 19b);
Identifying complementarities between SSC and North-South cooperation (AAA art. 19e).
In order to generate high-quality evidence, the TT-SSC will conduct analytical work based on case stories from around the world featuring the south-south cooperation in practice. The case stories will document SSC practices and their synergies with the aid effectiveness agenda. You are invited to submit case stories which describe in a light format an SSC experience or activity in the context of the aid effectiveness agenda. The case stories will be featured online and during the High-Level Event (HLE) on South-South Cooperation and Capacity Development in Bogota, Colombia on March 24-26, 2010.
Case stories are less than 2000 words and can be submitted in English, Spanish or French using the "Submit your Case" tab above. For complete guidelines and eligibility see the Call for Case Stories document.
The case stories provide critical inputs for growing a shared global knowledge base on effective practice and informing policy makers at the High Level Event on South-South Cooperation and Capacity Development to be held in Bogota, Colombia March 24th 26th 2010, and on towards Seoul 2011.
Send us an Alert! Do you know of an interesting example of South-South technical cooperation? If you have implemented, participated in or just heard of an interesting SSC activity that you feel would meet the criteria of this call for case stories but you cant write it yourself, please send us an alert using the "Send an Alert" tab above.
