Participants: Experts from development headquarters, especially experts in the field of human resources management and decentralisation, including members from the DPWG-LGD, experts from ministries in charge of human resources and development policies and experts from research institutes
Costs:Travel, hotel and evening expenditures will be financed by the participants themselves.
Dear Development Partners,
the Secretariat for the Development Partners Working Group on Local Governance and Decentralization (DPWG-LGD) and InWEnt (Capacity Building International Germany) on behalf of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) are facilitating a dialogue process on 'Joint Training for harmonization/alignment in the field of Decentralisation and Local Governance'.
Therefore, as a first step, a study has been undertaken by "denkmodell" which will be presented and validated during the workshop. The study will give an overview about the current stage of proceedings in the donor organisations. Then practical propositions will be presented and be discussed. The proposals will cover as well potential divisions of labour as planning and strategy developments.
The aim of the workshop is to assist the international development organizations to improve trainings in the field of local governance and decentralisation and as one of its consequences to better harmonize and or align their respective activities. Joint trainings can be seen as an efficient method to build an overarching "corps d' Esprit", to get the same ideas of concepts and last but not least to create an atmosphere where experts from other development agencies are no longer seen as potential rivals but as a potential cooperation partners.
It is planned to start this dialogue process with a workshop in Bonn, Germany. We are pleased to invite you to participate in this workshop. "Analysis and practical steps towards: Joint training for harmonization/alignment in the field of Decentralisation and Local Governance"
