The Regional Learning Program combines the capacity of the Impact Alliance's regional partners and members in Latin America.The Impact Alliance (IA) signed an agreement with the UK Department for International Development (DFID) with the objective of creating a regional program called: Supporting Knowledge Management and Learning related to Sub National Goverments and Poverty Reduction in Latin America (The Regional Learning Program - PAR).
| Grupo Nacional de Trabajo para la Participación (GNTP) Rol: GNTP leads the Learning Laboratories, which focus upon Knowledge Management and learning generated through the application of new strategies and experiences in cross-border and urban areas. GNTP is a learning community of individuals and of approximately forty development institutions with strong social commitment, with the purpose of promoting citizen participation at all levels in Bolivia. The principles and values of participation are the basis of their organizational culture by developing capacities to support and strengthen vulnerable social groups, contributing to a space where there is respect for diversity, and mutual responsibility between the State and the civil society in Bolivia. |
Instituto Brasilero de Administración Municipal (IBAM) Role: IBAM colaborates directly with GNTP in the Learning Laboratories that focus upon Knowledge Management and learning and learning generated through the application of new strategies and experiences in the Brasil-Bolivia border region. IBAM is a non governmental organization that promotes Municipalities as an autonomous sphere of the Government, by strengthening its capacity to formulate policies, give services, promote local development, and give solution to municipal and urban problems at regional and national level, through a democratic society and valuing its citizens. The strategic commitment of IBAM translates to daily actions of permanent attention to social, political, and economical tendencies in the world and in Brazil, paying special attention to adopting new ways of action, and building capacity for technological innovation to take place. | |
Pact Role: Pact has the role of coordination of the PAR, however additionally, Pact is responsible for leading Knowledge Management strategies, promoting the multi-lateral dialogue on politics and programs that are oriented toward the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), as well as the identification of instruments that measure the impact of sub-national governments toward the MDGs. Pact’s mission is to build empowered communities, effective governments and responsible private institutions that give people an opportunity for a better life. Pact does this by strengthening the capacity of organizations and institutions to be good service providers, represent their stakeholders, network with others for learning and knowledge sharing, and advocate for social, economic and environmental justice. Interdependence, responsible stewardship, inclusion of vulnerable groups, and respect for local ownership and knowledge are core values across all of their programs. |
